The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) stated it would start releasing the result of candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Board examination (UTME) that over 1.6 million candidates sat for last week.
It was decided after an emergency meeting that the result would be released as from Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
The board stated that they would be releasing the results of candidates, who have taken the examination so far on Tuesday, 2nd May, 2023. The Board had delayed the release to ensure that all necessary screening are concluded besides ensuring that the mean and standard deviation are reasonably obtained before releasing these results.

It informed candidates who sat for the examination but had challenges, but were not aware of the challenges, that they would see a notification of rescheduled examination instead of results.
It said three categories of candidates who missed their examination had been rescheduled for mop-up examinations, adding that all candidates, who could not sit the 2023 UTME within their scheduled time owing to no fault of theirs, would be rescheduled to take the examination on Saturday, 6th May 2023.
To elaborate, candidates who were verified at their centers but could not sit the examination; those who could not be biometrically verified, and those with mismatched data would have a rescheduled examination on Saturday, 6th May, 2023.
