Federal Government’s approval of the Ondo State Deep Sea Port

Ondo State Governor, Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, expressed his delight over the recent approval of the Ondo Deep Sea Port by the Federal Government. The operating license for the port was granted during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

In an official statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Richard Olatunde, Governor Akeredolu emphasized the significance of realizing the port project for the state government. He extended his gratitude to President Buhari and other members of the FEC, considering the approval as a remarkable parting gift from the Buhari administration.

Highlighting the importance of the Port Ondo project, Governor Akeredolu stated, "We are determined and committed to actualizing this project that will set our state on the path of economic prosperity. Our dream for this port of Ondo is to serve as a conduit for our goods, agricultural produce, and very soon, our bitumen."

The governor acknowledged the efforts and intervention of Minister of Transportation, Hon. Mu'azu Jaji Sambo, expressing the state's gratitude for his valuable services. Additionally, he recognized the contributions of Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, for his impactful struggles and efforts that have begun yielding enduring fruit of development. Governor Akeredolu further extended appreciation to all individuals who played a role in obtaining the approval, emphasizing that this development would renew their vigor and passion to deliver the Port Ondo project.

Governor Akeredolu concluded by reaffirming his administration's commitment to pursuing initiatives that benefit future generations, stating, "We are committed to any effort that targets the good of the next generation. We consider this a worthy cause for the generation yet unborn."
